Lightwire are designers and makers of fine handcrafted jewellery.

Lightwire Jewellery is a joint adventure from Jill and Bernard Cavanagh. Jill specialises in silver and gold wire work plus colour co-ordination with semi precious beads and stones.  She also produces unique macramé braceletes and necklaces. The contemporary designs are usually Jill's.

Bernard loves making silver chain jewellery ranging through bracelets, chokers, necklaces and earrings. The more medieval and classical designs tend to be Bernard's.

All our jewellery is hand made from scratch.

Bernard makes his chains from Sterling Silver & Gold Fill wire, he makes the rings by hand and all his chains are made in this way.  In a similar manner all Jill's designs are completely made from raw materials including Sterling Silver wire and Gold Fill silver wire

We have occasionally to resort to the odd ready made clasp but have already eliminated this need in a great number of cases. We also use many semi precious materials and with this knowledge please keep in mind that there will be minor differences in detail at times like colour or texture. This is unavoidable in any wholly hand crafted item using natural stones and precious metal.
